The haunting

half asleep I was

when IT appeared

to me
like a shy animal
invisible
but well to recognize
tonelessly
and without malice
IT let me know:

you have banished me
cursed and betrayed
and yet I love you too
for I am inextinguishable
eternal as yourself

neither made
of flesh and blood
nor space or time
or any quantity
are the quintessence

of my nature

I am what I am
a potential
an intelligence

a consciousness

a quality
an ability

a talent

a genius
call it what you like

in each newly

created instant
do I present myself

as the I AM

at good times
at bad times
sometimes strong
sometimes weak
because of balance
but I am
neither this
nor that
